Will Thou pass over me today
Without my being blest?

*STUDENT'S MANUAL*
*LESSON 34*
TOPIC: *DESTINY DESTROYER*
DATE: *Sunday, 19th April 2020*

*MEMORY VERSE:*
_“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”_ – *Jeremiah 29:11*

*BIBLE PASSAGE:*
*1 Kings 11:1-11 (KJV)*
1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.
7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,
10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.
11 Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

*INTRODUCTION:*
Destiny is God’s purpose for a man’s life. It is a divinely pre-planned destination. It is the totality of God’s counsel for a person and what God has decided concerning a person even before conception *(Jeremiah 1:5)*.

As good as it is, at several points in life, it still depends on one’s attitude and agreement with God. God has a prepared destination for us and we must surrender totally to Him so as to avoid destiny destroyers that may want to scuttle God’s plan for our lives *(Jeremiah 29:11)*.

*LESSON OUTLINES:*
1. Some Destiny Destroyers
2. Biblical Instances

LESSON OUTLINE 1: *SOME DESTINY DESTROYERS*
1. *Lack Of Knowledge*: Lack of knowledge is a destiny destroyer *(Hosea 4:6; Proverbs 29:18)*. If we are aware of our destiny, we shall be free, focused and fulfilled. Failure to do so may lead to destruction *John 8:32; Isaiah 61-9; Hebrews 11:13*.

2. *Pursuit Of Vanity*: Solomon pursued so much of vanity until he became a complete backslider. The privileges of wealth and lack of self-control ruined his destiny *(Ecclesiastes 2:1-11, 1 Kings 11:1-10)*.

3. *Lack Of Faith*: Lack of faith is also a destiny destroyer *(Hebrews 4:2; 1 Timothy 1:19)*.

4. *Pride*: Pride is excessive self-esteem. It is when you are filled with an exciting sense of credit due to yourself. Pride is a sin and it leads to loss and destruction *(James 4:6; Daniel 4:28-32; Proverbs 29:23)*.

5. *Sinful Lifestyles*: Sins not confessed and forsaken are dangerous because they provoke God to anger. A man who is living in sin cannot fulfill his destiny or attain destination which God has promised *(1 John 3:4)*.

6. *Anger*: Anger is another destiny destroyer. Uncontrolled emotional outburst has led many people out of God’s purpose for their lives *(Ecclesiastes 7:9; Proverbs 29:22)*.

7. *Prayerlessness*: Prayerlessness can cause the enemy to take advantage of a man’s destiny *(Matthew 13:25; 26:41; Luke 18:21)*.

LESSON OUTLINE 2: *BIBLICAL INSTANCES*
There are cases of people who, by one mean or the other, had their destinies destroyed. They include:
Solomon *(1 Kings 11:1-11)*,
Samson *(Judges 16:6-18)*,
Judas Iscariot *(Luke 22:2-5; Matthew 27:3-5)*,
Demas *(2 Timothy 4:10)*,
Gehazi *(2 Kings 5:20-27)*,
Reuben *(Genesis 49:3-4)*,
Achan *(Joshua 7:24-25)*.

*CONCLUSION:*
Run away from destiny destroyers and make up your mind to live a life that will enhance the fulfilment of your destiny.

*QUESTIONS:*
1. Mention five destiny destroyers that you know.
2. Identify four cases of people whose destinies were destroyed from the scriptures.

*ASSIGNMENT:*
Give ten (10) examples of people who fulfilled destiny with relevant Bible passages.

RCCG SPECIAL THANKSGIVING SERVICE MAY 2020

Topic: Thank God for Calvary Text: Revelation 1:11-18 The greatest battle ever fought since the creation of man was fought at Calvary. It was a battle between the forces of darkness and Light. It seemed as if darkness won, but 3 days later, Light shone. What We Should Thank God For: 1. For the Blood He shed on Calvary. Through this Blood, our sins have been washed away. 1 John 1:7 The Blood is still giving us victory over satan. Revelation 12:10-11 The Blood also gives us access to God. Hebrews 10:19-22 Everyone of us now have access to the Holiest by virtue of the Blood. 2. The Healing Stripes of Jesus. 1 Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:1-5 Jesus took a stripe for diseases yet undiscovered in addition to the 39 He took for categories of diseases already existing. 3. The Name of Jesus. Philippians 2:5-11, John 14:14 The Name has given us access to God's provision and deliverance. John 16:24 4. Victory over death.  Since Calvary, death has lost its sting. 1 Corinthians 15:54-57, Hebrews 2:14-
