HORMONAL IMBALANCE
In simple terms, what is hormonal imbalance?
Your hormones are involved in every aspect of your health. You need them in very specific amounts for your body to function optimally.
They are like the Engine oil in your generator, they must not be too little, they must not be too much. They have to be in the right quantity and gauge.
What the doctors do not tell you is that, Hormones are messengers sent throughout your body. When a hormone’s message has been sent, the used hormones must be removed from the body (or the messages will continue to circulate causing havoc).
If the engine oil from your generator or car becomes very black, you need to get rid of it from that generator or car. The same thing with used hormones in your body, when a particular hormone has done its own job, it needs to be gotten rid of.
Hormonal imbalances may increase your risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and other health problems. Getting rid of used hormones from the body happens through the process of detoxification.
WHY DOES THIS HORMONAL IMBALANCE OCCUR?
It’s all about two major weaknesses: the liver and a nutrient deficit. The liver is responsible for three main jobs that affect hormonal balance:
1) Balancing blood sugar– an unhealthy liver can’t do its’ job of helping to manage blood sugar and storing glycogen (sugar), so your adrenal glands kick in and activate your stress response when blood sugar falls too low. This stress steals from your body’s ability to make progesterone to support hormonal balance.
2. Converting thyroid hormone T4 to T3– the liver is one of the organs responsible for the conversion of thyroid hormone (converting T4- inactive form to T3- active form). If your liver is malnourished and can’t store glycogen, less T3 is the result, slowing hormone synthesis.
3. Detoxifying toxins and used hormones from the system.
What are the signs you should watch out for in case you are sensing that your hormones are getting out of balance:
-Mood swings and depression around cycle time
–Breast tenderness
-Variations or skipped cycles
-Vaginal dryness or itchiness
-Excessive or scanty blood flow during periods
-Cyclic insomnia, night sweats and fatigue.
How do you naturally avoid hormonal imbalance:
👉Nourish your Liver. Increase your protein intake, this will empower your Liver's natural detoxification ability to help your body take out toxins.
👉Stop dieting and eat MORE food. Especially enough protein and carbs to meet your metabolic needs.
👉Identify and reduce stressors in your life. This could be a variety of things- lack of sleep, insufficient fuel, or food sensitivities (since they activate the stress response).
👉Avoid Sugar and Refined Carbs. Consuming too many or too few calories can lead to hormonal imbalances.
👉Eat 1-2 raw carrots a day to help your colon absorb endotoxin and estrogen for excretion.
👉Drink Green Tea
Green tea is one of the healthiest beverages around.
👉Finally, always ensure you don't take a month without detoxifying your system. I will repeat it again, use natural remedies within reach to ensure you detoxify at the minimum, once a month.
