_*vaccination is a very important aspect of poultry farming, and should be given total attention*_

1. You must always obtain your vaccines from a registered and trusted dealer who maintains good cold chain.

2. You must maintain the cold chain (4°c to 8°c) till point of use.

3. Never expose your vaccines to sun light.

4. Do not wash your drinkers with disinfectant or detergent on the vaccination day, prior to and after vaccination. Use plain & clean water.

5. The brooding temperature should be within the normal room temperature throughout the vaccination period. Therefore, you need to remove the heat source at least, one hour before vaccination.

6. Birds must be moderately (NOT EXCESSIVELY) thirsty prior to vaccination.
7. You must provide enough drinkers.

8. Always do your vaccination before sunrise.

9. Vaccines in drinking water must be consumed within 30- 45 minutes.

10. Do not excursively dilute your vaccines. Reconstitute your vaccine in ¼ to ¹/5 of the water the birds consumed the previous day, or a known amount of water consumable in 45 min.

11. Withdraw every antibiotic/ Retroviral drugs at least 24 to 48  hours before administration of vaccines.

12. Do not administer vaccines to weak or diseased birds. 

13. Observe your birds throughout the vaccination period, ensure all the birds are drinking almost at the same time.
